High School Math Teacher

About the role

The High School Math Teacher, Grades 9-12 will provide an instructional program that develops student knowledge and understanding of mathematical skills and concepts in alignment with district-wide curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teaches district-approved Math curriculum
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times
• Plans a program of study meeting individual student needs, interests, and abilities
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
• Guides the learning process towards achieving curriculum goals
• Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records, and preparing progress reports
• Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside of the instructional day
• Maintains professional competence through in-service education and self-selected professional growth activities
• Serves on faculty and curriculum committees
• Implement individual education programs for special needs students

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree
• Valid Connecticut Teaching Certificate, 029, Mathematics
