High School Intern

About the role

The Job High School Interns (internally known as SCAN Interns) work in various departments within an organization to gain hands-on experience and exposure to different aspects of business operations. They assist with tasks such as data analysis, market research, project management, and administrative duties. Business Interns also have the opportunity to work on special projects and collaborate with team members to contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Learns organizational processes and procedures.
• Contributes to assigned projects and may assist with the development and maintenance of documentation or records.
• Aids in the development and maintenance of internal software systems.
• Affords assistance with day-to-day administrative tasks (e.g., filing, data entry, organizing materials).
• Shadows professionals in various departments to learn about operations and roles.
• Attends meetings, takes notes, and contributes ideas.
• Conducts basic research and summarizes findings.
• Helps plan and support events, presentations, or projects.
• Logs basic issues for escalation.

Qualifications

• Must be a current high school student with a California Work Permit (or ability to obtain one for your particular state before start date).
• Must be at least 16 years old and have a parent, legal guardian, or eligible relative employed by SCAN or a SCAN care delivery asset.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.).
• Responsible, punctual, and eager to learn.
• Communicates professionally via email and phone.
• Collaborates effectively with diverse teams.
• Shows initiative and motivation.
• Is dependable and responsible.
• Displays professionalism.
