High School - Head Tennis Coach (Girls)
Essential Duties
- Organizes and oversees all aspects of the athletic program.
- Prepares student athletes physically and mentally for interscholastic competition through structured practices, instruction in fundamental skills, and thorough knowledge of rules.
- Reviews eligibility forms and submits required documentation to the Student Activities Director.
- Safeguards all physical and academic requirements for each player and provides necessary information to the Student Activities Director to establish the VHSL eligibility list.
- Supervises the cleaning, storage, and proper maintenance of all equipment.
- Requests supplies, uniforms, and necessary equipment through the Student Activities Director.
- Promotes positive school-community relations by keeping families and the community informed about and engaged with the athletic program.
- Counsels parents and guardians before the start of the season.
- Prepares daily practice plans and leads practice sessions.
- Attends all required VHSL clinics.
- Adheres to county financial policies regarding the collection and receipting of funds.
Additional Information
The stipend amount will be prorated based on actual start date if the assignment has already begun. Applicants selected for interviews will be contacted by the school. Minimum Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, knowledge of the sport, and current understanding of coaching techniques and strategies.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills and effective communication skills.
- Prior experience managing team fund raising efforts is preferred.
