High School English Teacher (Immediate Hire)

About the role

Teach multiple sections of 9th grade English and one or more electives (Creative Writing, Film & Literature, etc.) to classes of no more than 20 9–12 grade students. Design and implement engaging, differentiated, interactive instruction that supports all students in developing their reading, writing, language, speaking and listening, and critical thinking skills and prepares them not only for college and careers but also for becoming active, informed members of their community. Create positive, student-centered learning environments that facilitate the completion of goals and objectives of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.

Responsibilities

• Teach multiple sections of 9th grade English
• Teach one or more electives such as Creative Writing, Film & Literature, etc.
• Plan and deliver differentiated, interactive instruction
• Support students in developing reading, writing, language, speaking and listening, and critical thinking skills
• Prepare students for college, careers, and active civic participation
• Create and maintain positive, student-centered learning environments

Requirements

• NJ Teacher of English CE or Standard certification
• Candidates with out-of-state licenses must have already applied to the NJDOE for reciprocity and be able to submit a screenshot of their application status
• Must live in New Jersey or be planning to relocate to NJ

Schedule

• 8-hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Pay

$52,000.00 – $87,000.00 per year based on collective bargaining agreement
