About the role

Teach agricultural science courses in high schools, including botany, zoology, entomology, horticulture, animal husbandry, and nutrition. Provide career guidance to students.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
  • Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, and projects.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan interdisciplinary units and field trips.
  • Supervise extracurricular activities related to agriculture.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • A conferred bachelor's degree in agriculture education or a closely related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.

Qualifications

  • Professional certification in agriculture education preferred.
  • Experience teaching agricultural science courses.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively.

Pay

Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time position, 180 days per year, with summer break.
