High School Counselor

Position Summary

St. Anthony Catholic High School, a private, college preparatory high school for young men and women, seeks a High School Counselor. The Counselor supports students in social, emotional, academic, college, and career development. The position ensures students meet graduation requirements and plans the campus master schedule. The Counselor works within SACHS’s mission and core values.

Essential Functions

• Adhere to daily attendance and punctuality at work.
• Maintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearance.
• Knowledge of comprehensive counseling and guidance programs.
• Ability to adjust and modify program implementation for student growth.
• Knowledge and experience with career assessment tools and college board.
• Knowledge of House Bill 5 Endorsements.
• Able to articulate and discuss the counseling program to the community.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

Required Education

• Master's Degree in Counseling or other related mental health field.

Required Work Experience

• One (1) year counseling and advising students in an academic setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in counseling and advising students in an academic setting.
• Knowledge of Naviance.

Certifications, Licenses Or Registrations

• None specified.

Work Hours

• Monday – Friday, 7:45 am - 5:00 pm.
• Occasional weekends and evenings required to meet departmental goals and attend special events such as Open House.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs for table set-up/tear-down at events.
• Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods of time.
• Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage potential and current students and respective family members, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
