About the Role
Fr. Thomas F. Price Catholic High School is seeking a part-time Biology Teacher to foster a Catholic culture in work with students, colleagues, administration, and parents. This position involves planning and presenting engaging lessons based on the Diocese of Raleigh curricula to facilitate students' understanding and application of high school Biology concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and presenting engaging lessons based on the Diocese of Raleigh curricula to facilitate students' understanding and application of high school Biology concepts.
- Preparing and distributing learning material such as notes, assignments, and quizzes.
- Sourcing the resources and supplies needed for lessons.
- Maintaining a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning.
- Documenting and reporting on students' progress including grading assignments, quizzes and tests in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with the principal and colleagues in planning and facilitating high school activities and events.
- Attending meetings with parents and staff.
Minimum Requirements
- Employment is contingent upon the applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
- Minimum level of Education: College Degree.
- Minimum amount of Work Experience: 1-3 years preferred.
- Area of related work experience: High School Biology or science teaching experience.
- Applicants should hold a North Carolina teaching certificate in Science, grades 9-12.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church who have prior teaching experience in a Catholic school setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a differentiated instructional environment that incorporates a wide range of instructional strategies, including cooperative and project based learning, independent and small group activities with hands-on learning experiences.
Schedule
- Hours Per Week: 10-20 (Part time)
