Minimum Salary: $2,056 (stipend prorated based on start date; may be split if position is shared)

About the Role

An auxiliary (assistant) high school band instructor assists the head band director in operating the school's band program during performances. Duties include instruction, rehearsal support, and student supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the marching band director with rehearsals, performances, and field shows.
• Supporting the instruction and coordination of marching band rehearsals and performance activities.
• Assisting with administrative duties, including supervising students during football games, competitions, parades, and band trips.
• Helping monitor student behavior, attendance, and participation during rehearsals and events.
• Chaperoning field trips, competitions, and after-school band activities.
• Providing support to ensure the safe and effective operation of the marching band program.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a public-school band and flags program.
• Proven ability to support high-level practice sessions.
• Prior experience in preparing students for interscholastic band competitions.
• Prior experience in supporting team fundraising efforts.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this assignment include the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
