About the role
The Varsity Dance Coach position at Houston High School is starting with the 2026-2027 dance season.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dance curriculum aligned with Houston Public Schools standards
- Teach dance classes to high school students
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate dance into the curriculum
- Assist in organizing and participating in dance performances
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Dance or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the high school level
- Proven ability to motivate and inspire students
- Experience with choreographing and teaching various dance styles
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of dance techniques and theory
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
