HHA (Home Health Aide) - Homecare Weekends
Salary: $13 - $18 per hour
About the role
Maxim Healthcare Services is hiring for a Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide personal care services, as necessary, to meet the needs of two pediatric clients. This is a weekend position.
Responsibilities
- Assist patient with baths, oral hygiene, dressing and undressing, toileting activities, feeding, etc., per plan of care.
- Take and record oral, rectal, and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).
- Perform safe transfer and ambulation techniques.
- Administer exercises according to the plan of care.
- Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).
- Handle patient’s laundry.
- Meet safety needs of patients and use equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.).
- Observe and teach home safety practices.
- Recognize emergency situations and follow emergency management procedures.
- Follow patient’s plan of care and complete all assigned tasks.
- Communicate constantly, clearly, and effectively with the client, family/caregiver, and office.
- Observe and document patient condition and report any changes to the assigned nurse supervisor.
Requirements
- Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable.
- Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care given.
- Possess and maintain current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation.
- PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
- Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations.
- Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
