HHA (Home Health Aide) - Homecare Weekends

Salary: $13 - $18 per hour

About the role

Maxim Healthcare Services is hiring for a Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide personal care services, as necessary, to meet the needs of two pediatric clients. This is a weekend position.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient with baths, oral hygiene, dressing and undressing, toileting activities, feeding, etc., per plan of care.
• Take and record oral, rectal, and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).
• Perform safe transfer and ambulation techniques.
• Administer exercises according to the plan of care.
• Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).
• Handle patient’s laundry.
• Meet safety needs of patients and use equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.).
• Observe and teach home safety practices.
• Recognize emergency situations and follow emergency management procedures.
• Follow patient’s plan of care and complete all assigned tasks.
• Communicate constantly, clearly, and effectively with the client, family/caregiver, and office.
• Observe and document patient condition and report any changes to the assigned nurse supervisor.

Requirements

• Meets all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws when applicable.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care given.
• Possess and maintain current CPR certification in accordance with state regulation.
• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations.
• Participation and completion of Maxim’s competency program.
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
