HHA, Home Health Aide

About the role

BAYADA is searching for Home Health Aides (HHA) in McKeesport, Duquesne, Monroeville, Larimer, Turtle Creek and Latrobe. An urgent need for a caregiver in or around Oakdale PA is also available.

Responsibilities

• Following a written plan of care by a registered nurse
• Provide personal care services, household support, and companion care (homemaker) services
• Help adults stay safe and independent at home
• Develop close relationships with clients
• Support clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting, nail care, etc.
• Perform household support tasks like light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, etc.
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding
• Engage in range of motion/exercises
• Aid in medication reminders

Requirements

• Previous home health care or patient care experience is welcomed, but not required. Training will be provided.
• A passion for caregiving and a desire to help others
• A commitment to being present and providing quality care
• Empathy, patience, kindness, and respect
• Ability to travel to clients' homes as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Pass a background check
• Pass a drug screening

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability
• Physical stamina and strength
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

$17 an hour
