About the role
The Henrich Lab is seeking a Junior Specialist to support their translational virology/immunology lab. Key responsibilities include sample processing, testing using specific platforms for viral and viral-host response testing, and assisting with new MSD panel development projects.
Responsibilities
- Support sample processing and testing using MesoScale Delivery (MSD) antibody testing for MPOX and protein testing for SARS-CoV-2
- Work in a BSL2 laboratory with tissues from people with viral infections, including MPOX and SARS-CoV-2
- Assist with the management of data and equipment, and data analysis using flow cytometry analysis software
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices for flow cytometry and provide training for use on the platforms
- Mentor and train junior staff members in the laboratory and serve on Division committees
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) in biological sciences or public health
- At least four years of research experience
- Knowledge and research experience in cellular immunology and/or molecular biology of viral infections
- Basic RNA assay work (e.g. RNA preparation)
- Experience in MSD protein and antibody assays
- Assisting manuscripts and reports
- Assisting grant applications

Benefits
This position offers a reasonable estimate for compensation ranging from $55,000 to $58,600 annually. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
