About NYCC
Since 2009, NYCC has been a part of hundreds of campaigns that challenge the way poor and working-class Black and Latino communities have been starved of wealth for centuries. We FIGHT economic power at its core. We RESIST fascist and racist policies that affect our most vulnerable. We BUILD power and transform our communities.
Job Responsibilities
- Building one or more neighborhood chapter that meets monthly
- Supporting an issue-based member committee
- Mobilizing community members to take action around the issues affecting their communities
- Identifying and developing community leaders
- Signing up new NYCC members
Qualifications
- Be based in Nassau County
- Proven ability to build organizing committees or to mobilize constituents
- Proven grassroots fundraising abilities
- Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends
- At least 1 year of organizing experience is preferred but not required
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Compensation Package
- Salary commensurate with experience starting at $52,500
- Generous PTO package including vacation, holidays, personal, sick, and wellness time
