Hemingways Restaurant- Evening Utility/ Dishwasher- Part Time

The Holiday Inn Oceanside is hiring a part‑time evening Utility/Dishwasher for its restaurant. The role involves cleaning and maintaining dishwashing, kitchen, compactor, and storage areas, as well as assisting with other stewarding functions.

Responsibilities

• Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Clean equipment such as worktables, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other items.
• Wash utensils, pots, and pans by hand or in a dishwashing machine.
• Return clean utensils, pots, and pans to their proper places.
• Remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and buff floors using heavy equipment.
• Clean walls, windows, and steam‑clean trashcans.
• Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of product.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or hand truck.
• Load and unload supply trucks.
• Follow all security and safety procedures established by the company.
• Report any damages, maintenance problems, or safety hazards to the supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lb (up to 50 lb in some tasks) and push/pull up to 100 lb.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents.
• Frequent immersion of hands in water and water‑diluted chemical solutions.
• Flexible availability; able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Adherence to all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and kitchen equipment.

Pay

Starting at $15.00 per hour.
