About the role

Hemmingway's Restaurant at Holiday Inn Oceanside is seeking a part-time Line Cook to join their team. As a part of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality food service for hotel guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and standards while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Maintain consistent food preparation and plate presentation for the pool area and guests.
• Prepares the kitchen before the start of the shift, including prepping food for service each day; and stocking the line, pantries or walk-in refrigerators/freezers.
• Ensure all supplies needed are available and ready for use, including preparing items in advance or performing simple tasks such as stocking the station with plates and bowls.
• Prepare items requested from the kitchen, coordinating with other cooks to ensure food is ready at the right time and in the right order.
• Clean the kitchen, disposing of garbage, cleaning utensils, pots, and pans, and cleaning cooking surfaces.
• Unload delivery trucks and store inventory correctly.
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.

Requirements

• At least one year of cooking experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule that includes evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in preparing meals for all meal periods (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
• Ability to walk and stand for a full shift; push/pull up to 50lbs; lift up to 50lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Line Cook or similar role.
• Strong culinary skills.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
