Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner
About the role
MedStar Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Medical Oncology department at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, an affiliate of MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute. This role is ideal for an Advanced Practice Provider who values patient-centered care, thrives in a team environment, and is capable of navigating complex and sensitive conversations with patients and their families. The practice includes covering MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital's sister hospital three miles away, for a combined daily inpatient consult service.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inpatient consults for new cancer or blood disorder cases
- Evaluate and manage new patients admitted to the hospital
- Follow up with established inpatients to ensure continuity of care
- Act as a liaison between inpatient and outpatient teams to ensure seamless transitions and care coordination
- Proactively alert outpatient teams for follow-up, enhancing care continuity and patient experience
Schedule
Days, Monday – Friday (5) 8-hour weekdays. This job excludes weekends, after-hours, or call responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Completion and graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
- Minimum 2 years APP experience
- CPR certification
- Eligible for Maryland and DC licenses
- Oncology experience preferred but not required

Pay
This position has a hiring range of USD $115,003.00 – USD $189,999.00 per year.
