ZACHRY is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Helper Electrician for the Chenier Sabine Pass site in Cameron, TX. No per diem is offered. A TWIC card is required.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
- Identify all tools required for tasks.
- Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
- Cut, bend, and run conduit as specified on blueprints.
- Install, modify, and fabricate cable tray as necessary according to specifications.
- Pull cable through specified pathways.
- Assemble and install electrical equipment.
- Terminate wires and cable to electrical equipment such as breakers, control panels, and distribution systems.
- Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specifications.
- Inspect electrical equipment and components to identify hazards and ensure operational condition.
- Set up and maintain temporary power systems.
- Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures.
- Hoist equipment and tools into location via bull rigging or crane.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a Journeyman Industrial Electrician or equivalent role.
- Electrical Apprentice License at a minimum.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics proficiently.
- Experience working on high voltage systems.
- Knowledge of basic electrical theory, including Ohm’s Law.
- Proficiency in installing and modifying cable tray using hand and power tools.
- Ability to bend and cut conduit using hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic equipment.
- Proficiency in cable pulling methods.
- Experience using specialized electrical tools such as ohm meters, multimeters, and terminating devices.
- Ability to terminate both high and low voltage equipment and cable/wiring.
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge of components in a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems for electrical malfunctions.
- Ability to identify different types, gauges, and colors of cables and wires.
- Knowledge and experience working with a lockout-tagout system.
- Willingness to follow all safety regulations.
- Reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights up to 300 ft, climb ladders and stairways, and work off platforms/scaffolding using appropriate fall protection.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Required PPE includes: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, and leather gloves.
- Must possess all required tools for the position.
Certifications and Licenses
- Valid driver’s license.
- NCCER Industrial Electrician certification.
- Current TWIC card (in hand).
Additional requirements include passing a background check, drug screen, pre-employment physical, and completing safety training (e.g., Audio Basic Plus, MVR, Safety Council, Scaffold User, and site-specific training).
