HELPER COOK (FULL TIME)

About the role

Eurest is hiring a full-time HELPER COOK at Hormel - 1 Hormel Place, Austin, MN 55912. Online applications are accepted only. The position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:00 pm. Food service experience and technical skills are required. Perks include no nights or weekends and an internal employee referral bonus.

Responsibilities

• Learns to assist in preparing and cooking various food items.
• Reads menus to estimate food requirements and orders food from suppliers or procures it from storage.
• Cooks food according to company production records and standardized recipes.
• Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperatures of various kitchen equipment.
• Mixes ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods under guidance.
• Adds seasoning to food during cooking as instructed.
• Tastes, smells, and pierces food to ensure it is cooked properly.
• Carves meat, portions food, adds gravies, sauces, and garnishes to meet customer orders.
• Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds fruits and vegetables.
• Butchers chicken, fish, and shellfish as directed.
• Bakes bread, rolls, cakes, and pastries as permitted.
• Maintains work area and equipment in a sanitary condition.
• Fulfills customer orders and interacts with coworkers courteously and efficiently.
• Ensures compliance with service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Food service experience and technical skills are required. No nights or weekends are worked. An internal employee referral bonus is available.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour.
