Helper - Carpenter

Mindak Commercial Construction, LLC in Lonsdale, MN seeks 20 Helper - Carpenters for temporary, full-time employment from 10/01/2026 to 07/15/2027.

Responsibilities

• Install wood structural components
• Move materials around the construction site
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Erect and position braces
• Clean work areas, machines, or equipment to maintain a clean and safe job site
• Fasten lumber with glue, screws, pegs, or nails and install hardware
• Select tools, equipment, or materials from storage and transport items to the work site
• Align, straighten, plumb, or square forms for installation
• Cut lumber or paneling to specified dimensions
• Drill holes in lumber
• Position and hold timbers, lumber, or paneling in place for fastening or cutting
• Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or coworkers
• May perform other job duties pursuant to 47-3012, Helpers - Carpenters

Requirements

• No formal education, training, or experience required; on-the-job training will be provided
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction
• Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
• Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching required daily
• Full range of physical motion required to operate manual and electrically powered tools, sprayers, and construction-related equipment
• Ability to move throughout the building, including climbing stairs and working at heights from ladders or scaffolding
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors, occasionally in dusty, noisy, or hazardous environments

Schedule

• 35+ hours per week
• 9-hour shifts between 7:00 am and 4:30 am
• 5-6 days per week, Monday through Saturday
• Schedule (including workdays) may vary
• May work more than the guaranteed hours
• Overtime varies and must be pre-approved

Pay

• $21.18 per hour
• Overtime: $31.77 per hour

Benefits

• Daily transportation to and from worksites provided by employer, or employee may report directly to the worksite
• Work tools, supplies, and equipment provided at no cost to employee
• Option of employer-provided housing for $150 per week (deducted from paycheck) or securing own lodging
• Employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from place of recruitment to place of work
• Reimbursement for visa, visa processing, border crossing, and related fees (excluding passport fees) in the first work week
• Upon completion of work contract or early dismissal, employer will cover reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence
• Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel (up to $68.00 per day with receipts)
• Employer guarantees work for at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period

Work locations include 130 Delaware Street SE, Lonsdale, MN 55046 and multiple worksites within Rice, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties.
