Helper

Responsibilities

• Work with the driver to assist in refuse collection.
• Ride along with the driver to help pick up refuse on route.
• Read maps, diagrams, and route sheets to follow a designated daily route.
• Operate controls and collection equipment.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections, fueling, and fluid level checks.
• Complete required daily service tickets and reports.
• Report any mechanical issues with equipment.
• Complete daily reports, logs, load/yardage, and load ticket receipts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• At least 18 years of age.
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
• No license suspensions within the last 2 years.
• Successfully complete pre-employment testing.
• Read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.

• Sit and stand as needed.
• Use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Talk or hear.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required.
• Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
• Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
• Possible exposure to high traffic conditions while outside of the vehicle.
