About the Role
Assist electricians and electrical technicians in various tasks related to electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance. Work under the supervision of experienced electrical professionals to ensure the smooth execution of electrical projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist electricians and electrical technicians in performing electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
- Transport, handle, and organize electrical materials, tools, and equipment; ensure proper storage and accessibility.
- Set up and assemble electrical equipment, fixtures, and components, including lighting fixtures, switchboards, and control panels.
- Run and secure electrical wiring and cables according to instructions, ensuring proper routing, fastening, and labeling.
- Aid in the installation of electrical devices, outlets, switches, and other components, following instructions for proper connections.
- Adhere to safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, maintain a clean work area, and report safety concerns or hazards.
- Maintain and care for electrical tools and equipment; clean, organize, and report any damaged or malfunctioning tools.
- Participate in site cleanup, dispose of waste materials properly, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Assist in documenting work progress, material usage, and issues encountered during tasks for record-keeping purposes.
- Learn from experienced electricians, seek guidance, and expand knowledge of electrical systems and installations.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of experienced electricians.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of safety practices and adherence to safety protocols.
- Willingness to acquire knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Must be able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures.
- Will sit in a chair at a computer for more than 8 hours per day at times.
- Must be able to stand and walk continuously through shift.
- Wear PPE, including a respirator, when required.
- May be exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions.
- Regular attendance is required.
Schedule
Position requires extended hours, which will vary depending on job and site requirements. May need to work weekends if business needs require.
Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience and paid weekly.
