About the role

The Helper will assist electricians and electrical technicians in various tasks related to electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance. You will work under the supervision of experienced electrical professionals and provide support to ensure the smooth execution of electrical projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist Electricians: Provide assistance to electricians and electrical technicians in performing electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
• Material Handling: Help in the transportation, handling, and organization of electrical materials, tools, and equipment.
• Equipment Setup: Assist in setting up and assembling electrical equipment, fixtures, and components.
• Wiring and Cabling: Assist in running and securing electrical wiring and cables according to instructions provided by electricians.
• Installation Support: Aid in the installation of electrical devices, outlets, switches, and other electrical components.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
• Tool Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and care of electrical tools and equipment.
• Site Cleanup: Participate in the cleanup and organization of the work area after completing electrical tasks.
• Documentation and Reporting: Assist in documenting work progress, material usage, and any issues encountered during the electrical tasks.
• Learning and Development: Take the opportunity to learn from experienced electricians and gain practical knowledge and skills in the electrical trade.

Requirements

Position requires extended hours, which will vary depending on job and site requirements. Each job will require their own specific hours of operation. May need to work weekends if business needs require. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Must be able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures
• Will sit in a chair on a computer, at times, for more than 8 hours / day
• Must be able to stand and walk continuously through shift
• Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), respirator, when required
• May be exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions

Skills And Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and components is preferred but not required
• Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of experienced electricians
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of safety practices and the ability to adhere to safety protocols
• Willingness to acquire knowledge of electrical codes and regulations
