Helper

About the Role

The Helper performs duties and operations to assist drivers in completing customer routes, focusing on exceptional customer service and adherence to all health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Loads and empties residential and/or commercial containers into truck manually or mechanically.
• Maneuvers containers staged curbside, dockside, carryout, or requiring pullout to complete service.
• Operates hoisting device to lift and empty bins or containers into truck hopper.
• Places serviced bins back in their original upright position with covers replaced.
• Assists driver with all backing maneuvers while on route.
• Loads trash and recycling into a rear-load truck in fluctuating weather conditions.
• Lifts 50 pounds constantly throughout the day while maintaining stamina for physically demanding tasks.
• Maintains a safe working environment at all times.
• Works in a high-paced, ever-changing industry.
• Communicates professionally with customers and employees.
• Participates in training and learning opportunities to expand knowledge of company products, sales, and services.
• Performs other duties as needed to support company vision, mission, and core values.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. constantly throughout the day.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong relationship management and customer service skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proven work ethic and commitment to safety.
• Successful completion of pre-employment testing, including a drug screen.

Pay

Hiring rate: $19.00 per hour.
