Help Desk Support Specialist
About the role
As the Help Desk Support Specialist, you will provide technical expertise to government customers and perform day-to-day maintenance, support, and upgrades for operating systems and workstations. You will directly interface with customers to schedule and perform software installations and upgrades, maintaining them in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provides quality customer support to ensure a positive experience.
- Responds to customer inquiries in-person, telephonically, or via e-mail.
- Resolves customer issues through subject matter expertise, research, reproduction, and troubleshooting.
- Participates in special projects as required.
- Works under some supervision but is expected to utilize independent judgment and initiative; work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy, and accuracy.
- Keeps manager and team members informed and participates actively within the team by sharing information.
- Displays self-confidence and shows strong initiative; demonstrates well-developed communication skills.
- Operates and maintains hardware and software associated with standard IT service delivery.
- Provides IT performance metrics, service reporting, and documentation, including weekly IT service reports.
- Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office.
Requirements
- 4 years’ experience in an IT-related field.
- Sec+ CE certification.
- Experience with an IT ticketing system.
- Preferred: Microsoft SharePoint experience.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry 20-25 pounds.
- Ability to stoop, bend, and kneel.
- Must have and maintain a Secret personnel clearance.
