Officer-level position focused on growing Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC) and Home Equity Loan volume through mortgage broker channels.
About the role
Base salary of $75,000–$80,000 per year plus incentive compensation tied to retail loan referrals. Responsible for managing existing broker relationships, acquiring new accounts, and supervising sales support staff within the assigned Florida market.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain long-term partnerships with mortgage brokers, ensuring consistent communication, support, and strategic collaboration.
- Identify, cultivate, and expand new business opportunities through sales initiatives, marketing, and referral networks.
- Oversee the broker review and onboarding presentation process.
- Educate brokers on loan submission procedures, underwriting, programs, and compliance requirements.
- Communicate program updates to brokers via email, phone, and in-person visits.
- Resolve conflicts between brokers and the bank.
- Participate in industry organizations such as the Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers to increase bank visibility.
- Coordinate and attend after-hours networking events to strengthen professional relationships.
- Supervise sales support staff, including performance evaluations, coaching, training, and disciplinary action.
- Provide management feedback on service-quality issues.
- Develop and deliver tracking reports for senior management using data-driven insights.
- Interact with clients and bank staff via email, telephone, mail, and in-person visits.
- Visit broker locations; up to 75% local travel required.
- Complete additional assignments and projects as directed by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in mortgage lending, wholesale banking, or related sales field.
- Professional demeanor and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences.
- Strong written communication skills with attention to spelling, grammar, and professional standards.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills and a solutions-focused approach to relationship management.
- Sound judgment in balancing organizational and customer interests while mitigating risk.
- Assertive, positive, and persistent cold-calling sales ability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products for document preparation, reporting, and workflow management.
- Ability to learn new systems and adapt to software upgrades.
- Regular local travel by car throughout the Florida market; occasional out-of-state travel may be required.
Schedule
Typically Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays and after-hours events.
