Helicopter Pilot
This helicopter pilot position is based out of Chehalis, Washington, providing VFR helicopter services to Weyerhaeuser Timberlands in Oregon and Washington. Some operations require travel away from Chehalis; travel expenses are provided. Most operations are conducted locally.
About the Role
Primary utility job functions include forestry fertilization, application of herbicides, and firefighting via water drops. Occasional ferry and reconnaissance flights are also conducted. The schedule is balanced to meet customer demand and personal needs, with flight hours managed per year to prioritize safety, work/life balance, vacation, and personal time off.
Aircraft types: Bell 212 and Bell 206L-4.

Responsibilities
- Conduct forestry fertilization and herbicide application using under-slung spreaders
- Perform longline firefighting in mountainous terrain, including water drops
- Operate under FAR Part 133/137 requirements in both flying and non-flying team environments
- Perform occasional ferry and reconnaissance flights
Requirements
- Commercial pilot’s license with rotorcraft-helicopter rating
- Second-class medical certificate
- Minimum of 1,000 hours of flight time as Pilot in Command (PIC) in rotorcraft
- Ability to operate under FAR Part 133/137 requirements
- Flight experience in helicopter agricultural application (spraying and granular fertilizer application)
- 1,000 hours of helicopter agricultural application experience
- Provide copies of medical and airman certificates
Preferred Qualifications
- 4,000 hours of flight time as PIC in rotorcraft
- Agricultural mountain application experience
- Flight experience in Bell helicopters
- Experience with Agnav guidance systems for aerial application
- Computer skills, database experience, people management, and customer relations
Pay
Target salary range: $108,521 – $162,782, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Eligible for an annual merit-increase program and an Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 15% of base pay (potential plan funding ranges from zero to two times the target).
