Pay
Base salary ranges from $82,900 to $93,251 annually, depending on experience, with the following pay scale:
- Step A: $82,900
- Step B: $86,216
- Step C: $89,665
- Step D: $93,251
Additional compensation includes:
- 120% ACCRA location stipend: $25,000
- $3,000 IFR stipend
- Experience stipend: Up to $12,000
- $40,000 sign-on bonus

Responsibilities
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and company policies.
- Complete pre-flight checks before every flight, verifying aircraft airworthiness and signing off on the Daily Flight Log. Perform a thorough walk-around of the aircraft before and after each flight.
- Serve as the final authority for aircraft operations and the safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment.
- Ensure familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems of backup aircraft, and confirm the medical flight team is comfortable with the medical interior and systems.
- Complete required documentation and conduct detailed flight planning with minimal notice to exacting standards.
- Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Schedule
Regular scheduled attendance with a 7/7 rotation (12-hour shifts). Travel requirement: 10% of the time.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must maintain a weight not exceeding 250 pounds and be under 70 years old.
- Must have flown in category within the previous 24 months.
Qualifications
Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Program requirements:
- 2,500 total flight hours with a minimum of 2,000 hours in category
- 1,000 hours PIC in category
- 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time
- 500 hours of cross-country flight time, with at least 50 hours at night
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC (50 hours of unaided time can be substituted with 100 hours of NVG time, but cannot be reduced below 50 hours of unaided time)
- 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time, with at least 50 hours in-flight in an aircraft, including 20 hours in actual instrument conditions in category

- Instrument rating (for category and class of aircraft; ATP rating in category meets this requirement).
