Job Description
Complies with all FAA Regulations (FAR's, 14 CFR), Angel One Transport General Aviation Operations Manual, Safety Manual, Training Manual and all other Arkansas Children's policies and procedures.
- Prepares VFR/IFR flight plans in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, Arkansas Children's General Aviation Operations Manual, and Arkanas Children's policies.
- Ensures aircraft is prepared for flight in accordance with the Aircraft Operator's Manual and General Aviation Operations Manual.
- Checks aircraft discrepancy log to ensure all discrepancies have been corrected or properly deferred.
- Performs maintenance operational checks and/or flights and enters mechanical discrepancies into aircraft log book keeping maintenance personnel and Angel One Communications Center abreast of aircraft status.
- Files, activates and closes flight plans.
- Maintains proficiency as Pilot-in-Command as per FAR Part 135.293/299 and Single Pilot Instrument Flight Rules (SPIFR) proficiency as per FAR Part 135.297.
- Notifies the Director of Operations whenever a medical deficiency exists that would affect the safety of flight.
Qualifications
- Class 1 Medical Certification or Class 2 Medical Certification - FAA
- Commercial Helicopter with Instrument - FAA
- Air Transport Pilot License - FAA
- Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Helicopter - FAA
- Certified Flight Instrument Instructor (CFII) Helicopter - FAA
Skills
- Knowledge of FAA Regulations (FAR's, 14 CFR)
- Experience with VFR/IFR flight planning
- Ability to prepare and maintain flight plans
- Proficiency in aircraft maintenance and operation
- Ability to perform maintenance operational checks
- Knowledge of Single Pilot Instrument Flight Rules (SPIFR)
