About the role
Employee is responsible for various types of spiral mill machine operation, including recorrugator machines, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture corrugated steel pipe to customer drawings, specifications or other forms of instruction.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety and quality requirements
- Change tooling corrugations according to print
- Set machine for different gages
- Knowledge of overhead crane used to move coils
- Assist with all scheduled/unscheduled repairs
- Use of wire feed and arc welding equipment
- Maintain accurate daily production reports
- Poly recoating of poly coated products
- Quality Control (QC) inspections as trained by the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager or Quality Supervisor
- Communicate non-conformance and/or corrective action details to the QA Manager or Quality Supervisor directly or through immediate supervisor
- Work in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain and wind)
- Work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed
- Prompt and dependable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience in stick, wire feed welding, plasma and oxyacetylene cutting
Skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Blueprint and drawing knowledge
- Knowledge of power tools (drills, gas powered chop saws, etc.)
- Knowledge of measuring equipment
- Ability to accept responsibility, account for actions and perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Effective communication with others using spoken and written word
- Active listening and understanding of others’ comments and questions
- Dependable and trustworthy
- Ability to work at a sustained pace, produce quality work and bring energy to tasks
