Heavy Motor Equipment Operator - Parks

Under general supervision, operates one of a variety of heavy and special motor equipment of five (5) tons or over. Makes minor adjustments to equipment and, when not driving, performs related work as required.

Responsibilities

• Operates a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
• Makes minor adjustments to equipment.

Requirements

• At least one (1) year of experience as a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator.
• Valid Massachusetts commercial driver’s license (must maintain).
• Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail.
• Ability to operate a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
• Ability to make minor adjustments to equipment.
• Must be able to work any assigned shift in any assigned area.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to implement them while operating machinery.
• Pre-employment physical and drug tests required.
• CORI check required.
• Boston residency required.

Qualifications Acquired On The Job

• Gain knowledge in operating heavy machinery such as tractors, skid steers, and backhoes specifically for park maintenance tasks.
• Ability to adjust to different park environments and varying project requirements.

Pay

Union/Salary Plan/Grade: AFSCME/RA1-13

Schedule

40 hours per week.
