Under general supervision, operates one of a variety of heavy and special motor equipment of five (5) tons or over. Makes minor adjustments to equipment and, when not driving, performs related work as required.
Responsibilities
- Operates a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
- Makes minor adjustments to equipment.
Requirements
- At least one (1) year of experience as a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator.
- Valid Massachusetts commercial driver’s license (must maintain).
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail.
- Ability to operate a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc.
- Ability to make minor adjustments to equipment.
- Must be able to work any assigned shift in any assigned area.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to implement them while operating machinery.
- Pre-employment physical and drug tests required.
- CORI check required.
- Boston residency required.
Qualifications Acquired On The Job
- Gain knowledge in operating heavy machinery such as tractors, skid steers, and backhoes specifically for park maintenance tasks.
- Ability to adjust to different park environments and varying project requirements.
Pay
Union/Salary Plan/Grade: AFSCME/RA1-13
Schedule
40 hours per week.
