Heavy Marine Equipment Operator

About the role

Stevens Towing Company, Inc. has a full-time position available for a Heavy Marine Equipment Operator with 5 years or more experience in a shipyard environment. This position requires experience in drydocking tugs, barges, and other marine vessels.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-use inspection of all equipment operated
• Perform preventative maintenance including but not limited to: adding fuel, oil, and lubricants; cleaning and changing cables, filters, hoses, belts, fuses; and adjusting brakes, clutches, limits, and similar equipment or functions
• Set up the marine railway
• Perform other duties as requested or required

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of shipyard experience
• Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card issued by Homeland Security)
• Valid driver's license
• Valid passport
• Willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
• Learn safety rules and become familiar with proper usage of safety equipment
• Comply with all Safety and Pollution Prevention Regulations and Procedures at all times under the direction of Stevens Towing Company, Inc.'s safety policies
• Participate in random drug screens as a condition of employment
