About the role
NSI Industries is seeking a Heavy Machine Operator for our Stratford, CT location. As a Heavy Machine Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial machinery to support our production goals. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting heavy equipment, following all safety protocols, and meeting production targets. This is a 1st Shift position (7:30 AM – 3:30 PM).
Responsibilities
- Operates Die Cast Machine
- Separates parts from scrap through use of a trim die or hand break
- Check and inspect parts by using a gage or visual and sign off on it at fixed intervals
- Check machine, if it stops and notify Mechanic or Foreperson of any issues
- Maintain housekeeping in your work area
- Cover a machine for another employee when on break
- Be Safety conscious and wear all PPE required
- May be asked to work in another department temporarily if needed
- Follow Supervisor’s and Foreperson’s instructions
- Communicate with other employees
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to operate machines
- On the job training
- Must be able to understand all essential functions. In approximately one month, candidate should have a good understanding of the job
Environment
100% within manufacturing facility. Conditions may be hot and noisy for extended periods. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
