About the role
The Heavy Haul Truck Driver is a key member of our team responsible for the safe transportation of materials to work sites while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. This role involves loading and unloading trucks, performing routine maintenance checks, and promptly reporting any incidents to the supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport materials on heavy-duty trucks to designated work sites.
- Efficiently load and unload trucks while ensuring cargo is properly secured.
- Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure the truck is operating correctly.
- Report any delays, accidents, or traffic-related incidents to the supervisor.
- Adhere to traffic laws and established transportation procedures.
- Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions as necessary.
- Perform daily maintenance checks on the truck to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Properly store all tools at the end of each shift.
- Notify the department lead immediately of any potential safety or equipment issues.
- Follow established processes and procedures diligently.
- Wear appropriate clothing, shoes, and personal protective equipment.
- Perform any other tasks or assignments as required.

Physical Demands
- Lifting and carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 100 lbs (approximately 50% of the time).
- Standing, walking, and climbing (approximately 50% of the time).
- Occasional sitting for extended periods (approximately 50% of the time).
- Frequent reaching, handling, and feeling (approximately 70% of the time).
- Frequent use of finger dexterity (approximately 70% of the time).
Working Conditions
- Moderate to high noise level.
- Work environment is not always environmentally controlled and may be exposed to extreme heat and cold.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a heavy-duty truck driver.
- Safe driving record in line with Company MVR policy guidelines.

- Ability to see details at a distance and up close.
- Quick response to signals when they appear, using hands, fingers, or feet.
- Timing of movements in anticipation of changes in the speed and direction of moving objects.
