Heavy Equipment Technician (Shop)

About the role

Join Komatsu and Be Part of Something Big at our South Plainfield, New Jersey branch. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to maintain and repair Komatsu and allied OEM construction equipment in a shop environment.

Schedule

First Shift, Monday through Friday

Pay

Hourly Pay: $35.41

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment including construction, mining, material handling, paving, and milling machines
• Perform major repair, rebuild, or replacement of engines and other major components
• Service diesel engines and hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems
• Operate heavy equipment as needed
• Complete accurate service notes for assigned work orders
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft products and industry software
• Ability to read and write English
• Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds

Work Environment

• Physically demanding work in industrial environments
• Exposure to noise, heat, cold, odors, hazards, and atmospheric conditions
• Activities include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling/pushing, working at heights, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, bending, and crouching
• Hand/eye and motor coordination required
• Overtime may be required
