Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy construction equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues including diesel engine, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Read, interpret, and apply information from complex schematics and diagrams.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to queries and providing technical support as needed.
  • Manage inventory of parts and supplies, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are available for repairs and maintenance.
  • Routinely update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician or in a related role.
  • High School diploma required, Trade school certificate preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
  • Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
  • Proficient in the use of diesel and hydraulic systems.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and fix mechanical issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to providing a high level of service.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Job Details

We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Heavy Equipment Shop Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who has a passion for working in a fast-paced, challenging environment, and possesses a deep understanding of heavy equipment, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems. As a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and service of heavy construction equipment in our state-of-the-art facility. You will be working with a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing the highest level of service to our clients.

Salary: $30 - $45 per hour
