About the Role

Global Machinery is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technician to diagnose, repair, inspect, and maintain a wide variety of heavy equipment in our Sacramento service facility. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative equipment from premium brands and grow your technical expertise through factory training and hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, drivetrain, and mechanical issues
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and scheduled service
  • Complete repairs ranging from routine maintenance to major component replacement
  • Utilize manufacturer diagnostic software, technical manuals, and service resources
  • Document inspections, repairs, labor, and parts accurately
  • Perform welding and light fabrication as needed
  • Work closely with Parts and Service teams to ensure efficient turnaround times
  • Participate in manufacturer training and technical development
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

  • Chippers & grinders
  • Hydroseeders and turf equipment
  • Spider lifts and specialty access equipment
  • Hydraulic attachments
  • Diesel-powered construction equipment

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience repairing heavy construction, agricultural, forestry, or diesel-powered equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, drivetrain, and mechanical systems
  • Welding and basic fabrication experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • Basic computer skills for diagnostics, service documentation, and parts lookup
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
  • Provide your own professional hand tools required to perform diagnostics and repairs
