We're seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. If you have experience operating machinery and a passion for working on impactful projects, we offer opportunities to learn additional skills and advance through on-the-job training and external education.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures
- Ensure company equipment and materials are maintained, kept clean, and stored safely
- Check filters and grease equipment
- Observe the distribution of paving material to adjust machine settings or material flow and indicate low spots for workers to add material
- Keep work area and equipment clean by collecting and disposing of scrap and excess materials
- Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent, and coworkers
- Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and the environment
Requirements
- Must adhere to OSHA safety protocol and work in a drug-free environment
- Must be reliable and have reliable transportation
- 2-4 years of operating experience preferred
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license before employment
Work Environment
- Field-based role on heavy civil and highway construction sites
- Loud noise levels, near moving mechanical parts, and outdoor conditions including inclement weather, heat, humidity, dust, and asphalt exposure
Physical Demands
- Lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods
- Perform physical labor under adverse field conditions
- Lift, push, pull, or carry objects using abdominal and lower back muscles
- Good manual dexterity and multilimbed coordination required
- Excellent stamina required
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Occasional long hours and weekend work may be required.
