PRIDE Industries is a fast-paced company dedicated to creating jobs for people with disabilities and providing high-quality solutions to clients across the nation. We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator with CDL Lead.
Responsibilities
- Operates heavy equipment such as cranes, clamshells, power shovels, motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scraper attachments.
- Maintains and repairs roads, parking facilities, airfields, and firebreaks.
- Monitors and reviews equipment, structures, materials, events, and environment to detect and assess problems.
- Reads and interprets grade and slope stakes and simple plans.
- Adheres to procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.
- Drives a truck to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between various types of locations.
- Greases, adjusts, and makes emergency and minor repairs to equipment to keep it in good working order.
- Trains and assists workers in performing duties, working alongside them on the same tasks.
- Maintains and manages material resources and time, orders needed materials, and accounts for materials on paper.
- Investigates discrepancies and reports them to management, recommending improvements to resolve issues.
- Maintains a good relationship with workers and customers.
- Trains workers in the safe and proper use of products and equipment to meet quality and safety standards.
- Completes work within allotted time limits and at acceptable quality standards.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Two or more years of work experience in roads and ground maintenance, or demonstrated ability to properly use heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance practices, repairs, and techniques.
- Ability to follow directions, instructions, structured processes, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively, provide information, signal others, complete daily records, and act responsively to inquiries and requests.
- Ability to manage and accurately track material resources and time, and adapt to changing work priorities.
- Ability to follow established safety rules applicable to heavy equipment operators, maintain a safe environment, and adapt to potentially hazardous conditions.
- Demonstrated organizational problem-solving and common sense skills.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Technical/other training.
- Class A License.
- Hazmat End Valid Driver's License.
