Heavy Equipment Operator (Missoula)

About the role

Williams Civil Construction in Missoula, Montana is hiring Operators to join their dynamic worksites focused on utilities and site development.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment including blades, dozers, loaders, excavators, haul trucks, water trucks, and dozers
• Ensure safe slopes on excavations, proper barricading, and compliance with trenching and shoring standards
• Tackle daily challenges, from troubleshooting equipment issues to adapting to changing site conditions

Requirements

• 2+ years operating experience in excavator, loader, dozer, and blade
• Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards, aggregate sizes, and load weight requirements
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write short correspondence
• Basic math skills for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing

Qualifications

• Strong safety awareness and adherence to all equipment operation guidelines
• Adaptability to changing site conditions and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with the team

Skills

• Proficiency in operating multiple types of heavy equipment
• Understanding of heavy equipment safety protocols
• Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards
