Heavy Equipment Operator Loader
About the Role
This position primarily involves operating off-highway heavy equipment, including haul trucks, pit trucks, water trucks, forklifts, stockpile trucks, bin trucks, and plant trucks within the facility. The role includes safely driving and maneuvering equipment for loading, dumping, and spreading materials, as well as assisting in stockpiling materials and hauling other materials as required.
You will inspect vehicle mechanisms, monitor and maintain fluid levels, and assist mechanics with minor service and repairs. The role also includes performing general maintenance work in and around the plant, making repairs of an ordinary nature, and notifying the plant manager of complex repairs.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment with a high degree of competence, skill, and proficiency.
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and complete daily equipment reports.
- Report unsafe mechanical conditions to the shop foreman and supervisor.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment.
- Assist with routine preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Work outdoors and in varying or extreme weather conditions (e.g., heat, wet, cold).
- Work in high, precarious places or cramped spaces requiring awkward positions.
- Comply with all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Follow established traffic patterns while avoiding road hazards and other dangerous conditions.
- Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently while observing all safety and health rules.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
- Heavy equipment operator experience is preferred.
- Must comply with all company policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Ability to work required overtime and a flexible work schedule as customer needs require.
- Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull, push, bend, and lift up to 45 pounds.
- Must be able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language.

Pay
The hourly range for this role is $22.79 - $29.13. This range is not inclusive of discretionary bonus or equity packages. Compensation is determined based on skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
