Full-time position with the Town of Belchertown Public Works Department.
About the role
Operate complex heavy motor equipment and perform manual work assisting in construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with street maintenance and repair projects by performing manual work and operating all public works department equipment.
- Operate all heavy equipment of high complexity, including excavators, front-end loaders, backhoes, heavy dump trucks, sweepers, light tractors, jack hammers, small rollers, and roadside mowers.
- Operate vehicles for roadway snow removal and deicing.
- Inspect equipment for safety; lubricate and make minor adjustments as necessary.
- Assist the Mechanic/Truck Driver in servicing automotive equipment.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in highway construction, including heavy automotive equipment operation, or any equivalent combination.
- Possession of a valid MA Class B Commercial Driver’s License (MA Class A preferred).
- Possession of a valid MA Hoisting Engineer License, 2A.
Pay
$25.62–$33.72 per hour.
Schedule
40 hours per week.
