Heavy Equipment Operator I

About the role
We are currently searching for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our North Shore Asphalt team.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of equipment including motor graders, excavators, front-end loaders, rubber-tire backhoes, and dozers
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment
- Perform other duties on the jobsite when not operating equipment
- Follow all safety protocols
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in the road or construction field, working outdoors in extreme weather
- Ability to read, understand, and write simple sentences, and perform simple mathematical equations
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating and maintaining an asphalt paver or MTV
- Experience operating at least three or more pieces of asphalt equipment, such as: paver screed, motor grader, front-end loader, rubber-tire backhoe, excavator, dozer
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures
- Individually lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs
- Push and pull weights up to 70 lbs
