Heavy Equipment Operator - Halifax, VA

Responsibilities

• Moves and grades dirt, digs ditches and trenches, hoists material, tools, equipment.
• Operates a variety of contractor equipment including excavator, dozer, road grader, and front-end loader.
• Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Reports defects or repairs to the supervisor.
• Ensures compliance with safety and security standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years’ experience involving the use of medium and heavy equipment.
• Valid CDL License.

Pay

Starting wages depend on skills and experience.

Schedule

Full-time position. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with time provided for lunch. Overtime expected. Work may be local or out of town, requiring overnight stays.
