Heavy Equipment Operator - Excavator, Dozer, Loader, Motor Grader

About the role
We are hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators in Joseph City, AZ to operate excavators (including long reach), dozers, loaders, motor graders, dump trucks, scrapers, water trucks, and other heavy machinery. Operators will move materials, participate in training, and ensure compliance with all safety rules, procedures, policies, OSHA, and MSHA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Excavator Operation: Dig holes and trenches; remove and transport earth, gravel, soil, sand, ore, rock, and industrial byproducts. Operate hydraulic shovel attachments, use buckets to dig to specified dimensions, and load materials into transport trucks. May utilize GPS grade technology.
- Bulldozer/Grader Operation: Level and distribute soil, sand, ore, rock, gravel, and industrial byproducts. Clear trees and rocks for construction projects. Attach and maneuver blades and diverse attachments using levers and pedals. Perform successive passes to achieve designed grade or elevation. May utilize GPS grade technology.
- Rock/Articulated/Dump/Roll-Off Truck Driver: Transport and dump loose materials such as sand, soil, rock, gravel, coal, ore, and industrial byproducts. Operate controls to tilt and dump contents; clear adhering material from dump bed.
- Scraper/Tractor Operator: Operate tractor-drawn or self-propelled scrapers to move, haul, and grade earth. Control loading gates, adjust cut depth, and spread or dump earth. Connect hydraulic hoses or mechanical linkages to power attachments.
- Water Truck Driver: Transport potable water to job sites and operate sprinkling attachments to control dust. Perform inspections, maintenance, and normal operating adjustments on water trucks.
Requirements
- Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA, and related state and federal regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Proficiency in using email, smartphones, tablets, or computers to manage company information and documents.
- Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
- Must maintain acceptable attendance standards as per the employee handbook.
- Approach work meticulously, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.
