Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

William Civil Construction is hiring Heavy Equipment Operators to join their team on utilities and site development projects. If you operate machinery comfortably and are safety-conscious, this position might be a good fit.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, blades, haul trucks, and water trucks
• Work on a variety of projects including utilities, grading, and site prep
• Identify and avoid underground utilities before digging
• Adjust to changing job site conditions and solve problems as they arise
• Keep basic time and material records
• Travel from interstate highways to rural dirt roads from various locations
• Look out for your crew and prioritize safety

Requirements

• Experience operating heavy equipment in a construction setting
• Understanding of trenching and shoring basics
• Familiarity with materials (aggregates, load weights, etc.)
• Able to follow instructions and communicate with your team
• Basic math skills for measurements and quantities
• A strong work ethic and willingness to adapt

• Comfortable in the seat of a dozer, excavator, or loader
• Safe and efficient operation of equipment
