Heavy Equipment Operator

Plum Thicket Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team in Harper, Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Spreading and compacting trash using a compactor
• Spreading daily cover using a Dozer
• Excavating soil using an excavator
• Maintaining haul roads using a grader
• Hauling soil
• Working in a fast-paced, team environment
• Following safe operating practices
• Learning and using interpersonal skills related to good customer service

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Extensive physical activity requiring strenuous work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 60 pounds
• Exposure to outside weather, frequent wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and vibration
• Moderate noise levels

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
• 2 years of experience preferred

Pay

$22 - $24 per hour, based on experience
