Central Transfer & Recycle Center (CRC), a Waste Connections company, is seeking a highly motivated and safety-driven Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at the Central Transfer Station in Vancouver, WA.

Pay

$28.00/hour, increasing to $29.00/hour after 90 days pending a positive performance review.

Schedule

  • Wednesday–Sunday
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Saturday, Sunday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and safely operate 938 CAT Loader, 308 CAT Excavator, Forklift, Backhoe, Yard Truck, and 53ft chassis/Trailer.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles, such as checking oil, water, and tires.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 500 hours of Heavy Equipment Operating experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Experience operating 938 CAT Loader, 308 CAT Excavator, Forklift, Backhoe, Yard Truck, and 53ft chassis/Trailer.
  • Heavy Equipment Operating certification from an accredited trade school preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills.
  • Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, including tire pressure, checking oil, and water levels.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Pre-employment requirements include drug panel screening, motor vehicle report, and criminal background check.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Extensive physical activity requiring strenuous physical work.
  • Heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring adherence to basic safety precautions.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment is required.
