Heavy Equipment Operator

Venture Metals + is a fast‑growing metal recycling company seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for its Wills Point Plant.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload scrap metal materials using a grapple, forklift, or skid‑steer.
• Assist with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment and industrial recycling equipment to minimize downtime and implement improvements.
• Observe all safety requirements and lead by example.
• Provide and receive constructive feedback for coaching.
• Ensure a clean and orderly workplace; clean and prepare sites by removing debris and potential hazards.
• Adhere to, evaluate, and maintain proper service logs and maintenance requirements.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, climbing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Outdoor position (under roofing) in all‑weather environments: rain, snow, heat, cold.
• Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and high noise levels.
• Required personal protective equipment: safety glasses, hard hat, high‑visibility vest, ear plugs, gloves, steel/composite‑toed shoes or boots.
• Must work in a non‑climate‑controlled environment and be exposed to all weather elements.
• Frequent lifting/moving of up to 15 lb; occasional lifting/moving of up to 25 lb.

Qualifications

• Some experience operating grapple crane, forklift, skid‑steer, and excavator; maintenance experience is helpful.
• Scrap metal or waste handling experience is a plus but not required.

Schedule

AM Shift: 6:00 am – 6:00 pm, Thursday through Monday.
