Heavy Equipment Operator
About the role
Venture Metals + is a fast-growing, metal recycling company looking to grow its operations team with an Equipment Operator. We are looking for a full-time, dual role Heavy Equipment Operator to assist with metal recycling activities.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload scrap metal materials with Grapple, forklift, or skid-steers
- Assist with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment and industrial recycling equipment to minimize downtime and make improvements
- Observe all safety requirements and lead by example
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback for coaching
- Ensure a clean and orderly workplace; clean and prepare sites by removing debris and possible hazards
- Adhere to, evaluate, and maintain proper service logs and maintenance requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; climb; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled / outdoor facility. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Qualifications
Some experience operating Grapple crane, forklift, skid steer and excavator operation / maintenance experience is helpful. Scrap metal/waste experience is a plus, but not necessary.
