Heavy Equipment Operator

Archer Western Construction is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for the I-26/I-95 Interchange Improvement project in Harleyville, SC. About the role

Primary function is to operate a variety of heavy equipment at the worksite to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building structures. Equipment operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the jobsite as needed, operating in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of equipment to complete tasks such as clearing land, trimming backfill, and moving/transporting materials (e.g., dirt, rocks, aggregate).
• Knowledge of operating procedures for loading and unloading materials.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks; oil, grease, service, and make normal maintenance adjustments on equipment.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation.
• Tolerate vibration, jolts, and loud noise associated with equipment operation.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of operating experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening.

This is a full-time position within the Transportation division.
